Judges’ comment “Transforming this pivotal location with a low energy mixed use scheme is of real social value” Soho Place is an urban jigsaw that builds on the arrival of the Elizabeth line to bolster the regeneration of Oxford Street. It includes two new mixed-use buildings that frame a new civic plaza: Soho Place.
One of the buildings incorporates a new theatre with 18,000ft² of offices above.
The other is a 10 storey building incorporating retail space on the basement, ground floor and first floor, with offices above.
The project has established a new London destination at the east end of Oxford Street, bordering the Tottenham Court Road transport interchange.
The project was built digitally before construction began, de-risking the programme. Designs anticipated sustainability demands and low carbon requirements.
