Engineers urged to consider heatwave effects on the elderly
ICE senior vice president Anusha Shah and President’s Future Leader Rachel Hayden have urged civil engineers to use their “skills, knowledge, and expertise and empathy to protect the elderly members of society” during heat waves.
They decided to collaborate on an item on the ICE website explaining how civil engineers can do more to help reduce heatwave risks to elderly people, following an ICE sustainable resilient infrastructure community advisory board discussion.
