Formula 1 safety boss to speak at ICE-Costain lecture

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team head of health and safety Stuart Hughes will present the annual ICE-Costain Health and Safety lecture on 30 January.

He is also president of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health.

Hughes will discuss the role of leading indicators in eliminating harm.

Leading indicators are important for identifying and remedying safety issues. Hughes will discuss what civil engineering can learn from Formula 1 motor racing.
